On September 16, Somerset Council announced that dredging would be carried out in the outer port of Watchet. It aims to clear the silt accumulated over the years and restore normal traffic to this ancient port.

Dredging of the Watchet Port

The port of Watchet is located in the south of England and is an important trading and fishing port. It is known for its natural deep water port, which supports all kinds of cargo transportation.

The dredging operation will continue until September 24. A water injection dredger will be used in the dredging operation. This water injection dredging technology will more gently return the silt to the water, in order to protect the natural ecology as the premise to complete the dredging work.
