Next Round of Port Gamble Bay Cleanup
A major cleanup project t will start this summer at the Port Gamble Bay; it will dig up and remove more decades-old contaminated sediments, creosoted pilings and other materials.
Local residents are invited to an April 26 meeting in Port Gamble to see the latest news of the project in the second stage of clean water.
The first stages proceed between September 2015 and January 2016.
Remove the waste wood, creosote coating structure and the pile foundation and sediment pollution protection and improvement of the bay, shellfish, fish and the overall health of the people.
Ecology of the staff will give introduced, and asked about the upcoming in-water cleanup at the Port Gamble Bay and Mill site. The contractor will begin in June, piling, and expand the cleanup in mid-July.
