Dredge Report: Dredging Project in The Cuyahoga River
The U.S Army Corps of Engineers awarded a contract to the Michigan-based Ryba Marine Construction Company to dredge the Cuyahoga River.
The work will be conducted by the end of 2016, at a cost of $3.7 million.
The Corps is legally responsible for maintaining a depth of 23 feet in the river, which is a Federal Navigation Channel. This year, the Corps (via Ryba Marine) will place all sediment dredged from the riverbed in a Port-run confined disposal facility (CDF) along Lake Erie and pay for doing so.
