Work Description:
The work includes maintenance dredging of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) channel between Morehead City and the South Carolina state line and the U.S. Coast Guard Oak Island (USCG) channels and basin. The work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels since the various areas were last dredged. Dredging depth is 12′ plus 2′ of allowable overdepth for the AIWW and 9′ plus 2′ of allowable overdepth for the USCG channels and basin. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged is 500,000 cubic yards. Disposal of dredged material will be on ocean beaches and disposal islands.
