Panama Canal Expansion Project – May 2016 Update

In more than one months’ time, the Inauguration Ceremony of the new the Panama Canal will mark the completion of the largest infrastructure action in the original canal building as early as 1914.

The opening ceremony of the canal expansion is scheduled for Sunday, June 26, 2016, according to the the Panama Canal Authority (ACP).

The project was originally set up to be completed by the end of 2014, but the date was postponed to 2016 due to some setbacks.
